Andreas and Bruno Kobler are connected not only by family ties, but also by their shared passion for fine jewelry and high-quality watches. After completing a one-year preliminary course in arts and crafts, both trained as gold and silversmiths EFZ (4 years) at Rolf Hendrik Meyer & Co in Basel and are experts in their field.
Bruno Kobler expanded his expertise through further training in arts and crafts and gained valuable experience at renowned companies such as Paul Binder in Zurich and Troller Goldschmied in Horgen.
In addition to his qualification as a goldsmith, Andreas Kobler completed further training as a watchmaker-rhabilleur, restoration technician for antique watches, and as a certified gemologist with further training as a diamond appraiser. diamond appraiser. His professional career has taken him to renowned Swiss watch manufacturers such as the Musée International d’Horlogerie in La Chaux-de-Fonds and, for 27 years, to Türler Schmuck & Uhren AG in Zurich, where he was a member of the management team.
Since July 2021, the brothers have been pooling their knowledge and experience in their own Kobler Zug workshop, located directly on the lake. With the founding of their company, they are sending a clear signal for the preservation of traditional specialist retail and stand for the highest quality, individual advice, and meticulous craftsmanship from their own hands for their customers.
In the field of classics, they offer high-quality and extremely rare specimens of sapphires, rubies, emeralds, and diamonds. They are also the market leader for cultured pearls in Switzerland.
The gemstone specialists know exactly where their precious stones come from and how they are traded. This gives Kobler Zug a unique selling point in the jewelry and gemstone industry. Thanks to direct contacts with tourmaline mines in Namibia and its own office in Bangkok, one of the world’s most important trading centers for gemstones, Kobler Zug guarantees transparency and the highest quality. The company also has mining rights in Colombia. Through close cooperation with miners, Kobler Zug has been able to prove the first traceability of a diamond and is also the market leader for cultured pearls.
