Summer in the Studio

While you, dear customers, enjoyed your well-deserved holidays, our studio remained open throughout the summer. Admittedly, there was a hint of holiday mode in the air here too. Morning and afternoon tea breaks were a little longer than usual, often accompanied by ice cream and spontaneous flashes of inspiration. But it is precisely this relaxed atmosphere that often produces the most beautiful inspirations. Summer is our most creative time of year. When the daily rhythm slows down a little, we consciously create space to enrich our range with fresh designs, bold combinations and new materials. During this time, it is not only jewellery that is created – conversations arise too. About colour schemes, gemstones and settings. We discuss, try things out, sometimes discard ideas, and often celebrate:‘How would you set this stone?’‘Do we still have any aqua-blue diamonds anywhere?’

‘They would go perfectly with the pink-pearl-coloured ceramic bracelet.’

‘I’ve finally found time for our beautiful red spinel from Myanmar.’

‘And – can someone please get some ice cream?’

There is a special atmosphere in the studio in summer: relaxed, but highly concentrated. Without time pressure, our love for craftsmanship grows in a very natural way – before the pace of Christmas time spurs us on to put our skills to the test again.

A look at our summer jewellery moments
We would now like to share with you what has been created during these summer weeks: discover the following

Spinell – Vivid Orangy Red – 4.14 ct – Myanmar

At the heart of this unique piece of jewellery is a natural-coloured spinel in an elegant cushion cut – 4.14 ct – in the exceptionally rare colour vivid orangy red from Myanmar. This gemstone has a particularly magical effect when the warm light of the afternoon sun combines with the glare of our shop window: then its bright orange-red colour really begins to pulsate. No wonder – the true colour quality of such rarities only becomes apparent in natural sunlight. Set in gently shimmering rose gold and surrounded by sparkling diamonds, this spinel unfolds a fascinating depth and presence. A handmade unique piece by Andreas Pfiffner, combining the highest craftsmanship with exceptional gemstone quality.

Mandarin garnet & crescent diamonds – 4.07 ct

This extraordinary ring combines powerful colour with sophisticated design. At its centre is a 4.07 ct spessartine – also known as mandarin garnet – of rare quality. Its intense radiance has been awarded the coveted rating of ‘vibrant’ in the GRS certificate – a term reserved for gemstones whose brilliance and light reflection are particularly vivid. This ‘vibrant’ appearance is no coincidence: the stone was deliberately cut to optimal proportions – a technique that results in greater weight loss but allows for maximum light play and impressive depth. The centre stone is flanked by two crescent-cut diamonds, which complete the ring in harmonious symmetry. A unique piece by Andreas Pfiffner & Andreas Kobler that masterfully combines precision craftsmanship and gemstone expertise.

Natural-coloured zircon from Cambodia

This ring features a special stone – not only because of its brilliant colour, but also because of its history. The natural-coloured zircon comes from the depths of Cambodia and was offered to us personally by the mine owner at our office in Bangkok – a rare find with character and provenance. With its intense, warm colouring and the fire typical of zircons, this gemstone is a real eye-catcher. Its fine refraction gives it an almost diamond-like brilliance – yet it remains unmistakable in its uniqueness. Set in a ring designed by Andreas Pfiffner, this unique piece combines craftsmanship with a special history of origin.

Tourmaline in shield cut – from earrings to rings

Originally, these luminous tourmalines were intended for delicate earrings. But as so often happens in summer, when everyday life in the studio slows down and creates space for new ways of thinking, the project took a surprising turn. New ideas emerged during the creative process – and so the original design spontaneously became a ring. The tourmaline, with its rare cabochon cut, now acts as a central design element, making an even more expressive statement and showing off its full presence. A piece of jewellery that exemplifies the lively creativity of our summer months. And the joy of rethinking plans. A unique piece, crafted by Tobias Höller, with a keen sense of form and gemstone effect.

Pink ceramic bracelet with platinum clasp and aqua blue diamonds

This bracelet is truly one of a kind – not only in its appearance, but also in its creation. The intense pink ceramic colour is a rarity that cannot be reproduced in this exact shade. A fortunate moment of material artistry that we could never recreate. The piece is finished with a handcrafted platinum clasp set with fine aqua-blue diamonds. The cool elegance of platinum meets the playful colourfulness of ceramic – an exciting yet harmonious contrast. An expressive statement piece, crafted by Andreas Kobler, that combines colour, form and rarity in a very special way.

Earrings with pink tourmalines & brilliant-cut diamonds in rose gold

Timeless elegance in its finest form: two luminous tourmalines in rich pink take centre stage in this classic piece of ear jewellery. Their intense colour is effectively emphasised by a three-row entourage of sparkling brilliant-cut diamonds – a harmonious interplay of colour and light. Set in warm, shimmering rose gold, the stones exude a particularly soft, feminine aura – elegant, yet suitable for everyday wear. A piece of traditional goldsmithing with a modern touch, crafted by Tobias Höller with great attention to detail.

Red spinel from Burma – platinum ring with diamonds

Powerful, clear and naturally beautiful: this red spinel from Burma impresses with its intense colour and crystalline purity – a gemstone that stands out for its rarity and luminosity. It is set in a handmade platinum ring, which elegantly complements the spinel’s radiance with diamonds set on the sides. The cool nobility of the platinum provides the perfect backdrop for the warm depth of the stone. An expressive, one-of-a-kind piece crafted by Bruno Kobler, combining classic forms with exceptional gemstone quality.

A taste of a masterpiece – emerald and Asscher cut diamonds

A glance at this work in progress promises great things: at its centre is a natural-coloured emerald from Colombia – just under 4 carats, of the finest quality and completely untreated (‘no oil’). A gemstone that is extremely rare to find – with a luminosity that is both calm and powerful. It is flanked by two 2 ct Asscher cut diamonds, whose striking shape brings a perfect balance of clarity and structure to the composition. The piece is not yet complete – but even now, it is clear that a new masterpiece is being created. Handcrafted by Andreas Pfiffner & Bruno Kobler, with the highest standards of gemstone quality and precision craftsmanship.

Each of these special pieces of jewellery tells a little summer story: of ideas, conversations, colours and shapes. Come by and be inspired.
